A tie across the suspension cables near the anchorages reads: "A. Leschen & Sons Rope Co., St. Louis, U.S.A." Leschen dates back to 1854 and became part of WRCA in 1962. The WRCA website has good descriptions of wire rope and related components.

The anchorages at Windgap are aligned with the axis of the bridge and are in the typical location. The wire rope is pulled over a pulley atop the Windgap towers. The wire rope has a bolted connection atop the McKees Rocks tower and due to the proximity of Thompson Av and the railroad bridge, the anchorages are offset. The northwestern anchorage is set nearly at a right angle to the axis of the bridge.
